One project done!!

I finished the armoire that I bought in Tennessee! Was kind of worried about the color because if didn't seem too different from the original color with dark wax on it, so repainted and used clear wax with some white detail, some original and some new knobs and I love it!!!!

Painting perfection!!!

After resting, unloading the trailer and oohing and ahhing again at all our treasures, we started right in painting! We were able to finish 2 big pieces and we are pleased with how they turned out! The glass front china cabinet is for Suzanne's daughter, Amy, who is expecting her first son!! In fact, Suzanne is on her way to Austin right now....contractions have started!!! Thought I had a picture of it.. Will post later!

The Best Ending To An Unforgettable Journey

We were tired, hot, and ready to relax so we decided to head back to the hotel to do a little swimming and wine drinking! We had met some super cute ladies from Texas at breakfast yesterday and they joined us at the pool with their BOX of wine!!! Our kind of friends!!! Cindy and Susan are stewardesses and this was their first trip to the yard sale! We had THE BEST TIME talking, giggling and sharing yard sale stories!!! We hope to meet them here same time next year!!! As rain threatens again tomorrow, we have decided to come home to Texas and to our families whom we miss dearly! So we leave you with a few more sights from the road today. Stay tuned to the blog as we get home, repurpose all of our goodies and show you the results! And the countdown starts for next year!!!

The Elusive Slaw Dawg

We stopped for lunch at the Cumberland General Store and finally found a slaw dawg that we have been hearing about!!! We sat at the counter of the diner and chowder down!!! Yum!

Our Last Splurges

As the sky threatened rain we quickly picked up a few more goodies!!! Bought this cute trunk, a fun little chair, a great iron bed and some cutie patootie black lamps!

Should We Stay or Should We Go?

Well we can't go anywhere without some kind if drama!!!! Yesterday we got back to Crossville and decided to stop at one last place before calling it a day. We got back to the truck to go back to the hotel and...no it wouldn't start:(. Finally got it started by putting the truck in neutral and made it back to the hotel. After MUCH discussion with Anthony and Kem we finally made a plan to drive 30 minutes to the next town to the Ford dealership. We decided to pack everything up before we left just in case the problem was involved and we would have to stay there, wait for the truck to be fixed and then go home. We were HAPPY GIRLS when they fixed the truck in about 30 minutes!!!! It's amazing how important one little bolt is in a truck! Who knew??? So we hit the road for more shopping!!! Yippee!!!!

The Perfect Ending to a Wonderful Day

PBJ, Fritos, wine and comfy beds...aaaahhhhhh! Good night!

As We See It

Here are some more fun photos from day 2! Enjoy!

Look Who We Met!!!

We traveled about 40 miles deep into the mountains and ended up at the base of the mountains around Pikeville. After lunching on corn dogs and fries we crossed the street to shop some more. As we rounded the corner - aaaawwww!!!! There was HGTV filming their annual yard sale episode!! Yes that is the Junk Gypsies!!!!! We hung around and watched as they filmed the final challenge segment of the show. Beth Ann chatted it up with a nice camera man named Chris (I can't post the photo I took of them or she will kill me as we both were looking pretty gross after the rain all day!). Amie and Jolie were very nice and chatty with us! Cute girls!!! We can't wait to see the show!!! Here are the items that the teams had acquired up to this point and here is a picture of the cars that they are talking about.

Shakers

We have been looking for some wooden salt and pepper shakers to doll up. We can check that off the list! The shaker man tried to sell us his camper too, which was adorable!! One of these days...

Frog Man

We met the craziest man selling his wares! He was wheeling and dealing in his booth! If you look closely you will see that he is wearing a frog around his neck!!! Don't think it was real but sure looked like a biology specimen! I asked if I could take his picture and he had to add the nose bone before I took his picture. Crazy!

Metal Heaven!

We happened upon the biggest pig and bull barbecue pits we have ever seen!!! Thought we might have to bring the pig home for Dana!!! Dana, they will be in Roundtop in the fall! This booth also had some great metal alphabet letters and stars that had been oxidized! Where were these 3 months ago when we were looking for them?

Rain Rain Go Away!!!

Looks like Mother Nature wanted to join the yard sale today!! The rain started this morning and rained on and off all day!! Did that stop us? NO! We had our umbrellas and our Crocs!
